This candleholder is Selenite, or crystallized gypsum. This mineral is prized for its clarity and beauty. The name Selenite comes from the Greek word for Moon and means “Moon Rock”. The defining characteristics of Selenite are the beautiful strings of crystals that resembles ice. The peach variety is a naturally occuring mineral found only in the Atlas Mountains in Morocco.
When lit, the candleholder bathes the room in a gentle romantic glow. This candleholder is crafted from a single peice of Selenite, sliced and polished, for use indoors and out. A hole is drilled down the center of the piece designed to fit a tealight candle.
